Eric Karl Oermann is an AI scientist, physician and entrepreneur, and Principal Investigator of the NYU OLAB. Before NYU he studied Lie groups, medicine and neural networks, trained at Verily Life Sciences, consulted at Google X, and completed neurosurgical training at Mount Sinai.

He mentors students in data science and medicine and works on better treatments for cancer as both a practicing physician and a scientist.
